Adults (aged 16 and over) must have identification with current address. Your first card is free; replacement card is $1.00. You must present your library card to check out items and NO ONE ELSE is allowed to use your card.

Loan periods are:
  • Three weeks for all books (except holiday books which are two weeks), audio books, CDs, cassettes, and magazines (current issues of magazines do not circulate.)
  • One week for all videos and DVDs except new ones, which circulate for two days.
Overdue fines are 10 cents per day for all items except videos and DVDs which are $1.00 per day.

A book drop and a video drop are located at the main entrance for use when the library is closed.

Rules for use of community or conference room

The community or conference room is available for use free of charge during the hours the library is open to the public to any group of citizens or individual whose purpose and conduct are consistent with and/or supplement the objectives of a public library or other nonprofit/community organization.

Some examples of meetings which are not consistent with and/or supplement the objectives of a public library, as discussed at the Granville Public Library Board of Trustees meeting April 9, 1997, are the following:

  1. Proselytizing,
  2. Business or commercial ventures or transactions,
  3. Conduction of religious services,
  4. Advocating the election or defeat of a candidate for political office,
  5. Advocating an affirmative or negative vote for or against any proposition whether political or otherwise.

No food or drink is allowed in either room. Both rooms must be vacated 15 minutes before the library closes, and the rooms must be left in a neat and orderly condition. Chairs and tables must be returned to the storage closets in the community room.
