Library Cards
To obtain a library card, children aged 5-16 must have
a parent or guardian sign a responsibility card and
have identification with current address.
Adults (aged 16 and over) must have identification
with current address. Your first card is free; replacement
card is $1.00. You must present your library card to
check out items and NO ONE ELSE is allowed to use your
card.
Loan periods are:
- Three weeks for all books (except holiday books
which are two weeks), audio books, CDs, cassettes,
and magazines (current issues of magazines do not
circulate.)
- One week for all videos and DVDs except new ones,
which circulate for two days.
Overdue fines are 10 cents per day for all items except
videos and DVDs which are $1.00 per day.
A book drop and a video drop are located at the main
entrance for use when the library is closed.
Rules for use of community or conference room
The community or conference room is available for use
free of charge during the hours the library is open
to the public to any group of citizens or individual
whose purpose and conduct are consistent with and/or
supplement the objectives of a public library or other
nonprofit/community organization.
Some examples of meetings which are not consistent
with and/or supplement the objectives of a public library,
as discussed at the Granville Public Library Board of
Trustees meeting April 9, 1997, are the following:
- Proselytizing,
- Business or commercial ventures or transactions,
- Conduction of religious services,
- Advocating the election or defeat of a candidate
for political office,
- Advocating an affirmative or negative vote for or
against any proposition whether political or otherwise.
No food or drink is allowed in either room. Both rooms
must be vacated 15 minutes before the library closes,
and the rooms must be left in a neat and orderly condition.
Chairs and tables must be returned to the storage closets
in the community room.

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE GRANVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY
The mission of the Granville Public Library is to
serve the community by providing:
- Print and non-print materials and appropriate equipment
to meet
the informational and recreational needs of patrons
of all ages.
- Recreational and informational programming for patrons
of all ages.
- Reference and referral services in person, by phone,
mail or email to
patrons of all ages.
