Parent & Caregiver Resources

We have compiled a list of some of our favorite websites and local attractions that can help you to share enjoyable experiences with your child and to pass along a love of reading and learning during critical years.

If you happen to visit the Library, the Parenting Collection, located in the Children's Department, has over 100 books and other materials related to child development, behavioral issues, and literacy.  Notable magazines in the collection include Scholastic Parent and Child and Home Education Magazine (to name a few).

  • Children's Book Council: Offers a wealth of information on children's book authors and illustrators as well as reading lists.
  • Granville Recreation District: Offers educational events and programs for all ages.  Find team sports, art classes, educational workshops, local park information, and more!  GRD programs are open to residents and families or persons employed in businesses located within the Granville School District.
  • GPL Homework Help: A collection of online resources that will help you and your child get through those school assignments and projects.
  • Granville Studio of Visual Arts: Teaches creative thinking through innovative in-school and after-school programs that prepare students of all ages for the 21st century.
  • Primary Games: Full of educational activities for parents and teachers to use with their children. Descriptions and grade suggestions are included for each activity.
  • The Works: Located in nearby Newark, OH, provides great hands-on learning opportunities for the whole family - including Mom and Dad!  Sign-up for a newsletter, learn about classes, camps, programs, birthday parties, and more.
